The Western North Regional Communication Directorate of the New Patriotic Party, led by Mr. Harry Addo popularly in politics as Ogyaba , has called on the current government to prioritize the completion of the abandoned Sefwi TVET Center instead of initiating a new project for political gain.

In a press conference held at Sefwi Boako TVET Center over the weekend, Addo said the Sefwi Boako TVET Center was started by the then Npp administration to equip youth in the area with technical and vocational skills, but work stalled years ago. He argued that finishing the existing facility would be faster, more cost-effective, and would directly benefit students and artisans waiting for training infrastructure

“Instead of abandoning a project that need completion just to cut sod for a new one, that calls for an apology to the people of Sefwi Boako and it environs including Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Hon Featus Bumagama, government should show commitment by completing the Sefwi Boako TVET Center,” Addo stated. “Ghanaians, especially the youth of Sefwi, need skills and jobs, not another foundation stone for political score.”
The NPP communication team stressed that incomplete projects drain public funds and delay development. They urged the Ministry of Education and the Ghana TVET Service to audit all stalled TVET facilities in the Western North and release a clear timeline for completion.
Residents and local artisans in Sefwi have echoed the call, saying the center would reduce youth unemployment and support small-scale industries in the area once operational.
The government is yet to respond to the request. Completion of the Sefwi TVET Center has been a recurring demand from stakeholders in the region since work stopped.
