Apam M. Ransford, who previously served as Deputy Communication Officer for the Suaman District, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Communication Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western North Region ahead of the party’s 2026 internal elections.
Ransford launched his regional bid under the slogan “#New Era of Hope”, with campaign materials branding him as “Hopeful 2026”. The move represents a step up from his district-level role, where he was responsible for managing the party’s communication and media engagements in Sefwi Dadieso.
During his tenure at the district level, Ransford was involved in coordinating information flow between the constituency executives, party base, and the public. Party insiders say the experience gives him grassroots insight into the communication challenges facing the NDC in the newly created Western North Region.

The Deputy Communication Officer position at the regional level carries broader responsibility: shaping the party’s media strategy, responding to political narratives across all 9 constituencies, and strengthening the link between the regional executive and grassroots communicators.

In his campaign visuals, Ransford retains NDC’s signature green and umbrella branding, with the “hand-on-chest” pose reinforcing his “New Era of Hope” message centered on trust, transparency, and revitalized engagement.
Political observers note that the Western North Region has become a key battleground since its creation in 2019. With internal elections slated for 2026 ahead of the 2028 general polls, the region’s communication machinery is expected to play a decisive role.
Ransford is among several young communicators now seeking to transition from district to regional roles within the NDC. Delegates in the Western North Region will determine the outcome once nominations are officially opened by the party.
