Mr Isaac Amoako well known as Teacher Amoako and CEO, Teacher Amoako Foundation of Sefwi Adjuofua has been named one of the top 10 nominees in Channel One TV’s Community Legends 2026 cohort, winning, national acclaim for his work organizing reading competitions for senior high schools.
Amoako’s initiative brings SHS students from across Sefwi Adjuofua and nearby districts together to compete, review books, and defend ideas in front of peers and judges. Teachers say the contests have boosted comprehension, vocabulary, and public speaking skills, while giving students new motivation to read outside the syllabus.
Channel One TV’s Community Legends_ project celebrates “unsung heroes, everyday changemakers, and remarkable individuals making a difference in their communities” through viewer-submitted entries. The 2026 edition drew over 100 nominations after entries opened in December 2025.
The station says it will ultimately “select three top people, recognise them, and support the expansion of what they are doing” to help scale their impact. The campaign forms part of Channel One TV’s mission of “Telling Your Story, Empowering Change” and aims to “inspire others to take action, reinforcing the idea that meaningful change often begins at the community level”.
Finalists are drawn from entries recognizing “remarkable individuals and initiatives in local communities”. The three Community Legends for 2026 will be announced after review of the shortlisted candidates.
