The New Patriotic Party in the Sefwi Wiawso Constituency of the Western North Region has been hit with a resignation as its Constituency Communication Director, Mr. Koenders Baidoo, has announced his decision to step down from the role.
Mr. Baidoo made the announcement on Saturday 12 July 2026 during Dawubo Kɛseɛ, a political talk show on De Beat FM hosted by Polo Esposito Edusei.
Visibly disappointed, Mr. Baidoo said he could no longer continue to serve and speak for the party after feeling abandoned by the same leadership he had defended and worked for through numerous challenges.
“Upon all the challenges I have faced in serving this party, I have been ignored,” he stated on air. “I am bitter, and from today I will not speak for the NPP as the Communication Director.”
The outgoing Communication Director did not mince words as he expressed his frustration over what he described as neglect from the party’s hierarchy, despite his commitment and sacrifices to the NPP’s cause in Sefwi Wiawso.
His resignation comes at a time when the party in the Western North Region is already dealing with internal tensions, including a court case filed at the High Court in Sefwi Wiawso involving constituency and regional party executives over election-related disputes.
As of the time of filing this report, the NPP Constituency and Regional Executives are yet to issue an official statement on Mr. Baidoo’s resignation.
Mr. Baidoo served as the face of NPP communications in Sefwi Wiawso, coordinating media engagements and defending party positions in the constituency.
