Bibiani, Ghana – A sod cutting ceremony was held in Bibiani to mark the beginning of construction of modern school blocks at Bibiani Anglican JHS and Hwenampori JHS. The event was attended by Hon Bright Asamoah Brefo, Member of Parliament for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, and Hon Sebastian Obeng, Municipal Chief Executive.

The new school blocks will feature modern facilities, including headmaster’s offices, staff common rooms, changing rooms for students, mechanized water systems, and modern flush toilet systems. The project aims to improve the learning environment for students at both schools.
Bibiani Anglican JHS, a notable school in the municipality, suffered a fire disaster in 2022, destroying all properties in one of its blocks.
The new block will replace the destroyed one, providing a conducive learning environment for students. Hwenampori JHS, on the other hand, has not had a facelift in decades, making this project a long-overdue upgrade.

The ceremony was attended by the Municipal Director of Education and his team, chiefs, assembly members, committee members, headmasters, staff, students and community members. The project is expected to bring relief to students and staff, enhancing the quality of education in the area.
The construction of the modern school blocks is a welcome development, and stakeholders are hopeful that it will positively impact the education sector in the municipality.
