The Western North Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Felix Ackah, has applauded the party’s national leadership for rolling out new election regulations ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Speaking to De Beat FM News, Mr. Ackah described the reforms as “timely and forward-looking”, saying they directly address long-standing concerns raised by grassroots members.

According to him, the new rules are designed to strengthen internal democracy, curb the monetization of party elections, enhance transparency, and create a level playing field for all aspirants from polling station to national level.

“This is a step in the right direction. The reforms show that the party is listening to the base. If we get our internal processes right, then winning 2028 becomes achievable,” he stated.

Mr. Ackah stressed that the Western North Region, a key electoral battleground, will fully comply with the directives. He added that constituency executives will be educated on the changes to ensure smooth implementation.

He also noted that the regulations are expected to restore confidence among members who felt sidelined in previous internal contests.

The NPP is expected to release full details of the new electoral guidelines in the coming weeks as it gears up for internal primaries ahead of 2028.
