Sefwi Wiawso MP, MCE Tour Aboagyekrom to Assess Development Needs, Pledge Swift Action

The Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso Constituency and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) have jointly embarked on a working tour of the Aboagyekrom Electoral Area to obtain first-hand information on pressing community challenges and fast-track interventions.

The delegation, which included heads of departments and key municipal staff, engaged with residents, opinion leaders, and assembly members during the visit. The tour forms part of a broader initiative by the Municipal Assembly to decentralize monitoring and ensure that development projects directly reflect the needs of the people on the ground.

Addressing the community, the MP stressed that seeing conditions firsthand allows for better advocacy and resource allocation at the national level. “We cannot plan from our offices alone. Being here with the technical heads means we can align the Assembly’s priorities with what the people actually face daily,” the MP said.

The MCE assured residents that issues documented during the tour would be tabled at the next Municipal Planning and Coordinating Unit meeting for immediate action. Departmental heads were tasked to submit technical assessments and cost estimates within two weeks to speed up implementation.

The tour ended with a brief durbar where community members were encouraged to maintain existing projects and support ongoing government initiatives. The MP and MCE pledged to return for follow-up visits to monitor progress on commitments made.

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly says similar tours will be rolled out across other electoral areas in the coming weeks as part of its “responsive governance” agenda.
