The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has successfully distributed income-generating items and assistive devices to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across the municipality.

The distribution exercise, held earlier today, forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to promote inclusion, economic empowerment, and improved livelihoods for vulnerable groups in the area.

Beneficiaries received various tools designed to help them start or expand small businesses. Items presented included industrial sewing machines and chest freezers, as seen in the presentation ceremony. The equipment is expected to support PWDs engaged in dressmaking, tailoring, cold store operations, and other trades.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Gyasi reaffirmed the Assembly’s dedication to ensuring that PWDs are not left behind in the municipality’s development agenda. He noted that economic independence is key to breaking barriers of exclusion and improving quality of life.

“_This initiative is about more than equipment. It is about giving our brothers and sisters with disabilities the means to earn decent incomes, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to our local economy,_” the MCE stated.

The gesture aligns with government policy and the Disability Act, which mandate equal opportunities and social protection for PWDs. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the MCE and the Assembly for the timely support, saying the items will transform their businesses and reduce dependence.

The presentation ceremony was witnessed by municipal officials and members of the media team.
