Thomas Aidoo, aka Zito, a communication member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western North Region, criticized the government’s economic performance, citing Ghana Statistical Service data that showed the economy grew over 7% under Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration in 2017-2018, compared to less than 5% under John Dramani Mahama.

He again expressed disappointment over Sam Jerome speaking on behalf of cocoa farmers. The debate escalated when Zito questioned Sam Jerome’s experience in cocoa farming.

Collins Owusu Ansah highlighted the government’s achievements, including free school fees for first-year tertiary students, reduced fuel prices and lower inflation which has affected almost the prices of every product and service in the country as he access the first year assessment on Resetting Agenda of the President. Zito countered that it is the only NDC members who have enriched themselves and therefore see the goodness in this government.
Sam Jerome later defended his role, stating Zito lacks understanding of cocoa administration at the Cocobod.
He continued saying ”You Zito what agricultural background do you have to represent the MCE, Louis Owusu Agyapong when your government was in power?”
