The CEO, Mr Adu Gyamfi of Boawoman Mining Company in Bibiani in the BAB Municipality has addressed rumors suggesting the company’s involvement in destroying water bodies, assuring the community of their commitment to responsible mining practices.
The company emphasizes its dedication to environmental sustainability and job creation in the region.
The CEO’s assurance comes amidst growing concerns about the environmental degradation caused by mining activities in Ghana.
The country’s mining sector is under scrutiny, with calls for stricter regulations and enforcement to protect water bodies and ecosystems.
He denied allegations of destroying water bodies, assuring the Sefwi Chirano community of responsible mining practices. This response comes after the community protested against the company plans to mine near their only source of water, river Suupre fearing environmental damage and loss of livelihood.
Claiming their legalization, the CEO said the company is a registered entity, dated 17th May 2025, and was commissioned by Lands Minister, Hon Emmanuel Armah Kofi Boah at Bibiani Minerals commission office in the Bibiani- Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western north region.
