Npp Presidential Race: Consistency In Politics Very Crucial -BumaKama

Official News Report | Eye on Western North Digital

Festus Bumakama Agyapong, an NPP aspirant, emphasizes the importance of consistency in politics, highlighting its significance in Ghana’s electoral landscape.

He believes that Ghanaian elections favor candidates who maintain consistency and return to the ballot, citing examples of former Presidents John Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo, who were retained by their party despite initial setbacks.

In the NPP presidential race, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is leading with 56% support, followed by Kennedy Agyapong with 28%. Bawumia’s campaign focuses on continuity, job equity, and managerial competence, while Agyapong emphasizes disruption and anti-elite capture.

Festus Bumakama Agyapong has criticized the NDC government for not fulfilling promises like the 24-hour economy, citing it as a “scam” and “deceit”.

He points to the sacking of government workers hired by the previous administration, nepotism, and favoritism as examples of unmet promises.

The 24-hour economy policy, aimed at creating jobs and boosting productivity, has been met with skepticism, with some arguing it’s unrealistic and lacks implementation.

Critics argue the government’s focus on the 24-hour economy is a distraction from pressing issues like youth unemployment, with some claiming the policy has led to increased desperation among young people. The NDC government, however, maintains the policy is designed to stimulate production and create jobs through public-private partnerships.

All these were said during an interview with Nana Yaw Adinkra (FAYA) on Faith FM Ghana Yie Die Morning Show This Morning.
